Advent calendar throwback

advent-calendar1The advent calendars have been unearthed from the storage box in the garage and out popped this beauty from last year.

I made this to list in my Etsy shop, but it was never going to be a money maker given the amount of time it took to produce but nevermind, it’s been hung in the hallway again this year. The numbered red and gold envelopes are equally  decorative as they are functional and now they hang ready to greet any visitors that step over our threshold.

Each envelope is assembled from GF Smith gold cardstock and deisgned on my Cricut explore which cuts each envelope shape, its number and an intricate design.

The hand assembled envelopes are filled with either a Christmas joke or a small paper gift including 3D paper trees, hanging baubles and tags featuring paper cut stockings, holly sprigs, stars and snowflakes and a cute mini gift box.

The envelopes are attached to the twine with Dovecraft wooden mini pegs. I think this could be one of those Christmas heirlooms that come out year after year.
