Exploding box card tutorial

Exploding card 4aI love experimenting with different card shapes especially ones with dimension and have an element of surprise.

I recently filmed two videos for Trimcraft showing how to use really simple folds to create a card with a difference.

At first glance, they look like standard 6×6 cards but once opened their secret is revealed.

The exploding box card requires two 12×12 papers as the cover and interior are created separately. I have stamped on the inside of mine but you could choose other embellishments or designs.

The second card is made from a single sheet of 12×12 paper and a band wrapped round the outside to hold it together. Again the folds are simple but the finished card is very effective.

Scroll down to see the gallery and don’t forget to share your dimensional cards with me on my social media pages: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
