Magic of Christmas sample cards

Magic of Christmas sample cards

This week’s #TuesdayTip has once again been taken over by another show review as my shows were scheduled on a Monday again. Instead of one tip, I am going to share four card layout ideas and a couple of pics of cute decoupage demos from yesterday too.

Can you tell from my image at the top of this post that I’ve merged two images together? I took two individual photos of the set yesterday to show off as many of the samples as possible but I didn’t plan this when taking them. I stood in the same spot to take both pictures, but as they’re at different angles they don’t quite meet in the middle. I think you get the idea though so I am not going to worry about it too much.

Create & Craft hit on a gem when they bundled all of the new items launching on yesterday’s shows into one item code. The result was an even bigger saving and no FOMO (that means Fear Of Missing Out in text speak Mum! – She loves a text acronym does my Mum!).

We wanted to offer choice in the Magic of Christmas’ bundles so we put together one kit of papers and embellishments –  including stamps – and one with papers and dies. But how could you possibly choose? Well, you didn’t have to with the megabuy offer available too. The decoupage pads were available in here as well so it was a crafty Christmas offer not to be missed!

You can still get one of the kits individually on the web site if you did miss out. The Magic of Christmas Card Making Kit contains 12×12 and 6×6 papers, frames, pearls, bows, acordion pinwheels, twine and a set of six gorgous clear stamps that will last long after the papers and embellishments have been used!) http://www.createandcraft.com/gb/pp/dovecraft-the-magic-of-christmas-card-making-kit-436348

There are a few of the decoupage pads available too so you can create those cute Christmas card with the wonderful characters: http://www.createandcraft.com/gb/pp/dovecraft-decoupage-pads-x-4-436350

In the demos I tried to showcase the beautiful papers as well as the embellishments and couldn’t resist a bit of heat empossing on the stamps too. I have explained the layouts in each of the image captions below.

Magic of Christmas musical card

Magic of Christmas musical card – I die cut the notes from the panel of musical manuscript papers and used both the panel and the die cut shapes. I used matting and layering with the red snowflake papers as well as kraft card which really makes the patterns stand out. A white backing paper does the same trick and I added a sentiment and pearls to finish the card off.

Magic of Christmas panel card

Magic of Christmas panel card – How can you choose which papers to use when they’re all so amazing! I couldn’t, so I created a panel card using six of the paper designs. Again I used kraft card as a background to make the designs stand out. I heat embossed the sentiment (which will be useful for so many of your Christmas makes for years to come) and again used pearls to finsih off the card, together with a mini bow.

Magic of Chistmas frame card

Magic of Chistmas frame card – the focus of this card is a frame containing a Christmas tree fussy cut out of one of the papers.  Even if you don’t use dies, this kit contains everything you need to make a card with toppers suitable for cutting out. Again, I have used several of the papers and embellished the card with three snowflakes cut from mirror card.

Magic of Christmas card with twine

Magic of Christmas card with twine – this collage effect paper from the 6×6 pad makes such a quick card. You don’t need much to build the card up as it’s already been done within the paper design. I wrapped twine around the paper like a present before layering it onto a card blank with foam tape. I stamped a sentiment onto card and cut it into a flag shape, finishing off with an acordion pinwheel topper and a row of three pearls. Gorgeous!

Snowman decoupage card

Snowman decoupage card – the cutest snowman with that broad smile and waving cheerily. Those holly sprigs on the panel have glitter on too!

Christmas decoupage card - Bear with gifts

Christmas decoupage card – This Christmas Bear brings gifts with glitter on! I love the dimension of a decoupage card. Undoubtedly handmade it’s a great way to send greetings to your loved ones.

What a fabulous way to spend a Monday! But it doesn’t stop there. I am really looking forward to the rest of the week too as tomorrow I am filming the latest Trimcraft video tutorials. I don’t mind boasting that I’ve planned some gorgeous makes, some of which I have already made for myself personally and plan to use for my Christmas decor.

But the crafty fun continues to the end of the week too! On Friday it’s back to the studio for my favourite collection from the 2017 range. And that’s no exageration! I am thrilled to have saved the best for last. This is a decadent, glamourous collection that will be perfect for so many makes, not just Christmas and I can’t wait to share it with you. So I haven’t! Here’s a sneak peek from my new header image on my Facebook page. I’ll blog about it on Thursday as well so you can glance through the collection before the show on Friday evening.

Happy crafting!
