Cute and crafty – New papers reveal

Hey Baby Star Card

Hey Baby!

I hope that caught your attention! Sorry to be so familiar so early in this blog post, but I’ve been busy crafting with a new paper pad and I wanted to share all its crafty goodness with you!

Hey Baby is the latest First Edition paper pad to be launched by Trimcraft, and once again I was lucky enough to get my mitts on a pad before the official launch so that I could prepare some sample projects.

Genuinely, I have to say that on the card front, ‘new baby’ and ‘christening’ are the occasions I get asked to craft for the most often and for gifts, christenings are a very close second to weddings. I think it’s because we want something extra special for these occasions and something personal. Admittedly I do have a friend who seems to know people having babies literally every month so she is my best customer, but if you think about it, there are so many occasions other than births and christenings when a baby-themed craft stash is essential: birth announcements, children’s birthdays, baby showers,  even pregnancy announcements and gender reveals are taking the US by storm. And you know what happens when a craft trend takes hold in the US; it’s not long before we embrace it over here in the UK.

That said, of course, this paper pad isn’t limited to baby themed projects alone. There are some lovely generic paper patterns in there such as glitter polka dots, hearts, balloons, stars, clouds, pinstripes, checks and butterflies.  There is a reveal over on the Craft Blog, click here to read more.

Heart Valentine's Card

With glitter heart patterned paper, the Hey Baby paper pad isn’t just for kids. This card shape was made by placing a scallop circle die over a folder sheet of card from the paper pad making sure to position the die slightly overlapping the fold.

I have created a few personal projects with this kit that will be revealed on the Trimcraft web site – www.thecraftblog.com – this weekend and they’ll be shown during the live Create & Craft TV show when this pad is launched on there too, but in the meantime I thought I’d share a few of the cards and projects I’ve made with this pad.

I’ve made children’s birthday cards, home decor and gifts, a Valentine’s card and I’ve included a sneak peek of the milestone banner I made using pictures of my son ahead of the Trimcraft post on Saturday.

In the coming weeks I’ll reveal the other launches that will appear on the show as well as the dates and times. In the meantime, as ever, Happy Crafting!
